Celebrate Special Events & Weddings in Tuolumne County
What a beautiful location. What a wonderful event! You have the opportunity to invite your family, friends or business associates to your wedding or special event in historic Tuolumne County. Getting a License
To be married in California you must obtain a marriage license prior to the marriage ceremony. If either party is under the age of eighteen, a license cannot be issued without the consent of a parent and a court order. To obtain a regular license the bride and groom (both over 18 years of age) must appear in person and provide information including parent’s full names and places of birth.

- APPLICANTS MUST BOTH BE UNMARRIED PARTIES.
a. SRDP- State Registered Domestic Partnership as registered with the Secretary of State.
Pursuant to Family Code Section 298.5©, no person who has file a Declaration of Domestic Partnership may enter a marriage with someone other than their registered domestic partner unless the most recent domestic partnership has been terminated or a final judgment of dissolution or nullity has been entered, or the domestic partnership terminated due to death of one of the domestic partners.
- APPLICANTS MUST APPEAR TOGETHER.
- APPLICANTS MUST SHOW PHOTO IDENTIFICATION (EX. CURRENT DRIVER'S LICENSE OR PASSPORT)
- IF PREVIOUSLY MARRIED AND MARRIAGE ENDED WITHIN THE PAST 5 YEARS – APPLICANTS MUST PROVIDE COPIES OF FINAL DIVORCE DECREE (MUST HAVE FILE DATE & JUDGE'S SIGNATURE) OR COPY OF DEATH CERTIFICATE (WHICHEVER CAUSED THE LAST MARRIAGE TO END). IF MARRIAGE ENDED AT AN EARLIER DATE-APPLICANTS WILL NEED TO PROVIDE THE DATE THE MARRIAGE ENDED.
- BIRTH CERTIFICATES ARE NOT REQUIRED AS LONG AS YOU KNOW THE FULL NAMES OF BOTH PARENTS (INCLUDES FIRST, MIDDLE, LAST NAMES AND MAIDEN NAME OF MOTHER) AS WELL AS THE STATE WHERE THE PARENTS WERE BORN
- LICENSE WILL BE GOOD FOR 90 DAYS & CEREMONY CAN TAKE PLACE ANYWHERE IN THE STATE OF CA. (ONLY ONE WITNESS IS REQUIRED)
- APPLICANTS MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE; OR HAVE THE CONSENT FROM PARENTS AND A COURT ORDER FROM A JUDGE. (CONTACT PROBATION AT 533-7500 TO ARRANGE THE NECESSARY PAPERS)

- APPLICANTS MUST APPEAR TOGETHER

- WEDDING CEREMONY MUST TAKE PLACE IN TUOLUMNE COUNTY, NO WITNESSES NECESSARY
- IF PREVIOUSLY MARRIED AND MARRIAGE ENDED WITHIN THE PAST 5 YEARS – APPLICANTS MUST PROVIDE COPIES OF FINAL DIVORCE DECREE (MUST HAVE FILE DATE & JUDGE'S SIGNATURE) OR COPY OF DEATH CERTIFICATE (WHICHEVER CAUSED THE LAST MARRIAGE TO END).
